Mick Brown, in his exclusive report for Football Insider, has reported that Aaron Ramsdale is very interested in moving to Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window. He is currently playing at Southampton, and they are on the brink of relegation from the Premier League. Hence, Ramsdale won’t be willing to stay at the club if they suffer relegation.
Ramsdale is interested in continuing to play in the Premier League. He felt out of favor at Arsenal after David Raya moved to the club, and hence he moved to Southampton for regular game time. The Blues need to sign a new goalkeeper, as the performances of their number one goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, have not been bright.
He has redefined modern goalkeeping with his exceptional playing qualities. Renowned for his agility and lightning-fast reflexes, he excels in one-on-one situations, often thwarting strikers with acrobatic saves. His distribution is a standout trait, blending pinpoint accuracy with composure under pressure, enabling him to initiate attacks with long, precise throws or kicks.
Ramsdale’s command of the penalty area is authoritative, as he confidently claims crosses and organizes his defense with vocal leadership. His bravery shines in high-stakes moments, diving at forwards’ feet without hesitation. With a blend of technical skill and mental resilience, Ramsdale is the complete goalkeeper package.
Ramsdale has conceded 38 goals and kept 2 clean sheets in 19 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. That means when Ramsdale is in goal, his team concedes a goal every 45 minutes. Aaron Ramsdale’s per 90 minutes goals conceded stat is 2. In terms of raw goalkeeping, he’s saved 85 of the 130 shots faced, meaning Aaron Ramsdale’s save percentage is 65.38%.

Meanwhile, Sanchez has conceded 23 goals and kept 4 clean sheets in 21 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. That means when Lynch Sanchez is in goal, his team concedes a goal every 82 minutes. Robert Sanchez’s per 90 minutes goals conceded stat is 1.1. In terms of raw goalkeeping, he’s saved 71 of the 98 shots faced, meaning Robert Sanchez’s save percentage is 72.45%.
Many Spanish clubs are interested in Sanchez, and the Blues might accept a decent offer to offload him. The club is satisfied with the performances of Ramsdale during his tenure at Arsenal and also adores his skills and traits. Hence, they feel that he might be a decent upgrade over Sanchez. Moreover, Ramsdale’s wish to play for Arsenal’s eternal rival, is a surprise as well. Hence, it remains to be seen if the move goes through in the summer or not.
