Southampton goalkeeper Fran Stenson has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The Saints announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Stenson was tipped for big things in the early days of her senior career. She was on the books of Manchester City and Arsenal before becoming a household name at Barclays WSL2 level. The player is now viewed as one of the top goalkeepers in the second tier.

Stenson is a hugely important player for Southampton and the club have moved to retain her services for the 2026/2027 season.

After signing on again at St Mary’s Stadium, Stenson said “I’m really happy to have re-signed, last season was a positive one for us so I’m excited to hopefully kick on again as a group. This is a place that feels like home now, so I’m looking forward to continuing my time at the club.”

Stenson helped Southampton to record a fifth-place finish in this season’s Barclays WSL2. She played in all 22 league matches, keeping six clean sheets.
