Championship clubs, including Southampton, Millwall, and Hull City, have long-standing interest in Tottenham youngster Tyrese Hall, who is currently on loan with Notts County.

The attacking midfielder has notched five goals and one assist in 17 League Two appearances for County this term, most recently scoring against Cheltenham Town in November.

Hall's efforts have helped Martin Paterson's side establish a serious play-off push, with 11 wins from 24 fourth-tier fixtures this season.

However, the 20-year-old was red-carded when Notts County defeated Bristol Rovers 1-0 in late November, thanks to Matthew Dennis's late winner.

Paterson's men are next in action on 17 January, after their clash with Oldham Athletic was postponed.

Meanwhile, Southampton, Millwall, and Hull have long-standing interest in Hall, who could be recalled by Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The Spurs starlet also has other Championship and League One suitors, according to The Sun.

Football League World asked our Notts County fan pundit, Gareth, if it would be a blow for a League Two side if the midfielder was recalled by Tottenham, and if he is good enough to make the step-up to either League One or the Championship.

Gareth said: "Tyrese Hall showed some real promise within the side, playing as a really decent number 10, although Notts currently have a decent amount of cover in that spot.

"He has shown a slight hot-headedness. His recent red card actually caused the side some real issues. There's still some promise there; he's definitely developing as a player.

"Somewhere like the Championship or League One, it may be a step too far, too soon. But he definitely has shown some real signs of maturity, but then, on the flip side, some immaturity as well.

"He definitely is someone that's promising, and Notts are actually quite light in terms of attacking options, especially with the injuries to some of the longer-term midfield players.

"I think from a manpower situation, rather than necessarily a skill-based situation (he would be a loss), he's only recently been able to make the bench and play part-games."

Tyrese Hall would benefit most from staying at Notts County

Hall's ability and potential have been epitomised by the fact that Spurs are considering recalling the England youth international from his League Two loan spell, while he has attracted Championship interest.

However, following his red card against Bristol Rovers in November, the 20-year-old also received a booking during a 1-1 draw with MK Dons last month.

As alluded to by Gareth, while Hall is displaying positive signs of development, his disciplinary issues of late may suggest that he is not yet ready for a move to the Championship or League One.

Therefore, the Tottenham man would be best served by staying at Notts County, where he can help Paterson's men in their quest for a play-off spot.
