Spain’s national team flew into Madrid from New York to begin World Cup celebrations, wearing a new Loewe travel uniform that drew instant scrutiny.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, they went straight to a Royal Family reception at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, still in full travel kit.

The outfit pairs a dark suit with an electric blue polo. A rolled left sleeve reveals white stripes and an interior Loewe monogram.

This is formalwear, not the match kit, which remains Adidas. The handcrafted suit mixes tailoring and casual pieces, uses cotton and wool, and favours neutral or primary colours.

Prices have stirred debate: jacket 2,200 euros, trousers 1,100, shoes 950, polos or T-shirts 480.

At the last World Cup the team wore El Ganso, typically 100 to 200 euros. Earlier tie-ups included Pedro del Hierro and Emidio Tucci.

La Roja’s first images on X prompted comments about style and cost. The caption suggested the players were farming aura at the airport with Loewe.

The collection, overseen by Jack McCollough and Lázaro Hernández, spans tailoring and footwear. It launched with portraits of Pedri, Unai Simón, Rodri, Pau Cubarsí and Nico Williams at Las Rozas.

The Loewe deal runs for four years, from the 2026 World Cup in North America to 2030 in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
