Tottenham Hotspur could reunite Archie Gray with former Leeds teammate Crysencio Summerville this month, with a £25m bid being readied, The Daily Mail reports.
Gray and Summerville both left Leeds in summer 2024, joining Spurs and West Ham respectively for a combined £68m. They followed Georginio Rutter in stepping up to the Premier League after defeat to Southampton in the play-off final kept the Whites in the Championship.
Summerville was the 2023/24 Championship Player of the Season after 20 goals and nine assists across the league campaign and play-offs. West Ham triggered his release clause in August.
West Ham at the moment look most likely to join Burnley and Wolves in the bottom three. They are two places and eight points short of Leeds in 16th and could now lose their winger.
Summerville has scored in his last two appearances for West Ham, including a 2-1 win over Thomas Frank’s side. A switch would reunite him with Gray, the 19-year-old who has struggled for minutes but impressed at full-back and in midfield.
Espirito Santo is already confronting the possible departure of Lucas Paqueta, who has made clear his desire to leave the UK and return to Flamengo this month. West Ham therefore face a choice, either lose one of their most talented attackers or keep a player with no desire to remain for a relegation scrap.
West Ham have added forwards Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos for a combined £45m so far this month, yet neither has scored a Premier League goal. Espirito Santo also wants defensive and midfield reinforcements, although it remains to be seen if the hierarchy can deliver.
