John Kennedy opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a right-footed finish, setting Fluminense up for a 1-1 draw at Bahia.
Kennedy timed his run onto Nonato's through ball and swept in from the centre (20.). The movement split the line and gave the Brazilian the clear sight he wanted.
He then slipped a pass for Luciano Acosta to shoot from outside the box (55.). Moments later, his combination released Agustín Canobbio to test the goalkeeper again (66.), keeping Tricolor Baiano pinned back.
He finished with two shots on target from two attempts, three key passes and five touches in the box, plus four ball recoveries, including one in the attacking third. Those numbers underpinned constant pressure that kept Flu threatening.
Because Tricolor Carioca's front line pulled Bahia's centre-backs apart, his bursts between defenders repeatedly created space. That movement ensured Fluminense controlled the game's most dangerous phases.
