Mika Godts struck in the 14th minute, setting the platform as Ajax beat Telstar 3-2. The 20-year-old's finish framed a chance-laden display that kept the visitors in control.
Cutting in from the left, Godts drove a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner from a tight angle. It was a clean, early act of authority that tilted the game towards the visitors.
He stayed busy before the interval, drawing saves and creating openings. Godts teed up Kasper Dolberg for a low effort that was saved (38.).
After the restart he kept supplying. His cross produced a close-range header chance for Don Konadu (86.). He then slid a pass that sparked a low shot from Rayane Bounida, again saved by Ronald Koeman (90.).
Godts finished with four attempts, three on target, and four key passes, underlining a dual threat as runner and creator. With the Godenzonen seeing 65.0% of the ball, his timing and movement repeatedly unsettled Telstar's back line.
The Godenzonen remain third in the Eredivisie. They visit AZ in the KNVB Beker next. Telstar visit Almere in the KNVB Beker next.
