Stéphane Richard ‘to be appointed’ Marseille president | OneFootball

La Provence reports that Stéphane Richard, 64, will be appointed president of Marseille, with owner Frank McCourt due to speak on Friday.

The club has been searching for a successor to Alban Juster, who has handled the role on an interim basis since Pablo Longoria's exit.

Richard led Orange from 2011 to 2022, then joined the supervisory board of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.

He previously served as chief of staff at the Ministry of the Economy between 2007 and 2009, working under Jean-Louis Borloo and Christine Lagarde.

McCourt is scheduled to hold a press conference at the Vélodrome at 11:00. A Ligue 1 match against Metz follows there at 21:05. Those close to McCourt declined to comment.
