Chelsea are once again in the battle for the Champions League places, but are the form team in that group right now. They’re playing well, and have their star player Cole Palmer back fit.

Steven Gerrard was on TNT Sport last week, and he’s worried about whether Liverpool will be able to keep pace with a Palmer-inspired Blues team.

“Chelsea are a completely different animal when Palmer is playing,” Gerrard said on the coverage of his old team’s narrow 1-0 win over Sunderland last week.

“Every game remaining is big for Liverpool. With Palmer back, that’s a massive concern for others. The type of player who doesn’t just score goals; he changes the entire gravity of the pitch. When he’s on it, Chelsea look like a completely different animal.”

That should be especially the case this week when we take on Burnley. Palmer has a superb record against the Clarets, and had a rest on Friday in the FA Cup. If he really is back to his best, we’re about to find out, and Gerrard and Liverpool are right to be worried.
