Strasbourg’s squad are split over PSG v Chelsea on Wednesday, pulled between BlueCo ties and personal links to Paris players. According to L'Équipe, the question of allegiance runs through the club.

Guéla Doué will be in Croatia with Strasbourg, who visit Rijeka in the Europa Conference League last 16 on late Thursday afternoon. He will follow his brother Désiré and PSG against Chelsea, having been denied permission last season to travel to London to back PSG at Arsenal on 1 October 2024, a 0-2 Champions League loss.

Strasbourg share owners with Chelsea under BlueCo for more than two and a half years. Aaron Anselmino, David Datro Fofana and Mike Penders belong to Chelsea, and Emmanuel Emegha has a pre-contract for next season.

Others, including Mathis Amougou, Ben Chilwell and Diego Moreira, have arrived from Chelsea and are likely to support them. New coach Gary O’Neil says he will be neutral, too busy preparing Rijeka, and might only catch one half. He likes English teams and France, appreciates PSG and their coach, but says Strasbourg come first this week.

Fans are divided too. Liam Rosenior’s January move to Chelsea, and his farewell claim that it showed Chelsea’s respect and should be a source of pride, hurt in Alsace. His successful push to end Mamadou Sarr’s loan early fed the Ultras Boys 90 rallying cry “BlueCo Out”. Around Krimmeri, Wednesday’s game in Paris should attract more attention.
