VfB Stuttgart have rejected a Beşiktaş offer for defensive leader Jeff Chabot (28), with the bid just under €10m. Kicker reports the Bundesliga side rebuffed the approach and plan with the centre-back for 2026/27.
The Swabians previously valued him far higher, demanding between €20m and €25m when Juventus showed interest during 2024/25.
Chief executive Alexander Wehrle has said no player is categorically unsellable, but any club would need a significantly larger proposal before Stuttgart consider serious talks over Chabot.
Chabot returned in Saturday’s 2-2 preseason draw with Paris FC, playing just under 20 minutes after a planned minor knee operation limited him to rehab work early in camp.
Stuttgart had already confirmed his workload would rise gradually, and central defensive partner Ramon Hendriks also resumed after a heel issue.
Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß said the pair did a great job on return, adding the focus is on staying healthy, taking the next physical steps, getting through camp and adding minutes next weekend.
Stuttgart host Everton at the MHP Arena on 8 August, then face Fulham one week later. Their campaign begins with a DFB-Pokal tie at Hansa Rostock on 21 August.
Standing 1.95 metres, Chabot was nicknamed The Bouncer at Köln and took an unusual route to Stuttgart via Germany, the Netherlands and Italy after Köln’s 2024 relegation. He has since become a key aerial presence.
