In an interview in kicker, VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß clarified his future at the club amid consistent speculation.
Since joining Stuttgart in 2023, Hoeneß has turned the team around from fighting relegation to now fighting for a top-four spot. During his time in charge, he has also led the club to a second-place finish and, most importantly, a DFB Pokal win last season.
As is the nature of modern football, the VfB head coach has consistently been linked with a move away from Mercedestraße, with a move to the Premier League or previously Bayern Munich. He has also rejected a move to Manchester United in the past.
However, now, the head coach has clarified his situation:
“I am fully committed to VfB and want to continue to be as successful as possible.”
Considering the work he has done so far at Mercedestraße and the current trajectory of the team, there is very little reason why Hoeneß should leave the club in its current state.
It is entirely possible that he could lead the club to a Bundesliga title in the future, and that would do a lot more for his career than switching to a Premier League side who will be fighting to finish in the top four, but not good enough to challenge for the title.
