Georgiy Sudakov acknowledged he is going through a difficult spell at Benfica, posting on social media after a subdued display against Estrela da Amadora.

He started the match and was substituted on 72 minutes. According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica’s hierarchy retain full confidence in him, with reasons cited for his form including the different stage of the season compared with Ukrainian football, a packed schedule, lifestyle changes, the size of the fee, the war in Ukraine and criticism from José Mourinho.

In his message, the 23-year-old urged praying until fear was gone.

This season the midfielder has made 28 appearances for Benfica, 16 in Liga Portugal Betclic, seven in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal and two in the Taça da Liga.
