Sunderland and Leeds United ‘to explore’ £30m move for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott | OneFootball

Football Insider reports that Sunderland and Leeds United are among the clubs eyeing Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott, and that Liverpool could consider a sale if he fails to impress new head coach Andoni Iraola during pre-season.

The 23-year-old has returned to Merseyside after a difficult loan at Aston Villa, where he made only nine appearances across all competitions and did not meet the conditions for a permanent move. He is understood to be keen to prove himself to Iraola and fight for another opportunity at Anfield.

Several clubs are monitoring his situation should Liverpool consider a permanent exit. Leeds are credited with interest, while Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Coventry City have also been linked. His Premier League and Champions League experience would appeal, although the finances involved could be a hurdle.

Valuation estimates range from €35 million to around €40 million, with €35 million equating to roughly £29.7 million at current rates. Sunderland are expected to weigh multiple attacking targets as Régis Le Bris looks to bolster his squad for a season featuring Premier League and Europa League football.

Elliott can play from the right, as a number ten or in a deeper creative role, suiting Le Bris’s preference for versatility. For now, he appears intent on earning another chance at Liverpool, and his pre-season form is likely to shape whether any move becomes realistic.
