Supporters’ group Red and White Army has issued a positive update after meeting interim chief executive Tom Burwell and other Sunderland representatives over ticketing problems, with constructive talks leading to action on individual cases.
According to Sunderland Echo, the club acknowledged concerns about cancelled away tickets and difficulties during season ticket renewals, and most affected supporters have since received positive resolutions, with processes being improved where possible.
The group plans to liaise soon with the FSA on European matters following the end of the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign, reflecting the club’s new status in continental competition.
The meeting also covered recent personnel changes at Sunderland, which were set out as part of a strategic plan to operate successfully as a Premier League club.
For travelling support, Sunderland plan to send their own stewards with fans on busy LNER services after a positive trial at the Bournemouth game, when behaviour seemed to improve.
Paul Nelson and Jane Hughes represented RAWA at a recent Premier League Fan Advisory Board meeting at Villa Park, and the group will continue working with the club to embed lessons and improve ticketing.
