Sunderland are said to be leading the chase for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa this summer, amid growing interest across Europe.
According to Sunderland Echo, Regis Le Bris’ side are ahead of rival suitors and have begun talks with the player’s representatives, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth previously linked.
The Algerian joined last year after an April 2024 agreement, and the 24-year-old has 22 goals and 11 assists in 76 appearances. This season he has 11 goals and six assists.
In the Eredivisie his xG has ticked up to 3.46 from 3.14 and xA to 8.37 from 7.29, while successful dribbles per game have risen from 1.6 to 2.6 and crosses from 0.9 to 1.7.
Feyenoord’s valuation could prove testing for bidders, equating to roughly £25.5m to £29.8m.
Hadj Moussa came through RC Lens in 2018, then moved to Olympic Charleroi in 2022 before Patro Eisden, and later produced two goals and two assists in 15 matches on loan at Vitesse.
His market value has climbed from about €12m in December 2024 to around €20m now, roughly £17m. Former Olympique Béja coach Nabil Neghiz views his acceleration and end-product as signs of further growth.
