Sunderland have been linked with a £25m move for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels, with fresh lines on Romaine Mundle and Kristjaan Speakman also emerging.
The Black Cats are planning a major window under Florent Ghisolfi after clinching Europa League football, and head coach Régis Le Bris says the squad needs three or four more consistent additions to meet Premier League and European demands.
Sky Sports reports that Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Sunderland are interested in the 22-year-old Belgium international, and that Forest had multiple bids rejected in January, the last said to be worth £25m.
Afrik Foot reports that Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke could leave after starting six league games last season, adding that Sunderland could be a suitable next step given his creativity, dribbling and potential fit in Le Bris' transition-based style.
Reports in Belgium suggest Standard Liege would receive 10 percent of any future fee for Mundle, having inserted a sell-on when he joined for around €1.8m, with his value now put at roughly €7m amid outside interest.
Football Insider claims former Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman has been linked with the director of football role at Birmingham City, with Dan Ashworth a contender and academy director Mike Rigg also in the running.
