Sunderland’s loanees have endured mixed fortunes, with Dan Neil helping Ipswich Town clinch second place, while Anthony Patterson and Browne now chase Championship play-off success.
According to Sunderland Echo, Neil could yet earn another Premier League chance after joining Ipswich on loan in January. He has made 16 appearances and came on late in a 3-0 final-day win over Queens Park Rangers that confirmed second place. A permanent move is unclear, with recent reports linking Championship title winners Coventry City and recently relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Anthony Patterson’s days at Sunderland appear numbered. The goalkeeper joined Millwall in January, reuniting with Alex Neil, has six clean sheets in 14 and now hopes to secure promotion via the play-offs.
Browne has been a consistent presence for Middlesbrough, making 39 appearances with four goals and three assists. He will try to help Kim Hellberg’s side in a two-legged semi-final against Southampton next week.
Simon Adingra has three goals in 15 for Monaco and featured in a Champions League play-off round tie with Paris Saint-Germain. Injuries have limited Dutch centre-back Jenson Seelt to 10 games for the Bundesliga club, including a DFB-Pokal red card, with his last outing a 4-3 defeat to Freiburg in December.
Pembele has made 13 league appearances for Le Havre, two of them starts, and Leo Hjelde has eight outings for the Blades since January, with two starts.
Johnson has been a regular for York, who sealed EFL promotion on the final day as Josh Stones equalised in the 113th minute at Rochdale after Mani Dieseruvwe scored on 95 minutes, taking the defender to 25 appearances.
