Sunderland have begun addressing concerns over the season-ticket renewal process, with several supporters offered resolutions after direct contact from the club.

According to Sunderland Echo, some long-serving fans had been unable to move from corporate packages back to general admission, alongside wider direct debit and ticketing problems. The club told supporter group RAWA it would review cases and contact fans individually.

Among those affected was Steven Poppleton, who has followed Sunderland for 40 years and held a season ticket for the past two decades. After his father George died, he asked to move from the premium 76 Yards area back into general admission.

He initially said he was told to join the waiting list despite his long service. Following discussions involving RAWA, he received a call from the club on Friday with an apology and an offer of general admission seats for his family.

Other supporters have also received positive updates during renewals, including at least one case involving ticket access for next season and recognition of existing loyalty discounts. Not every case has been resolved, but the recent movement suggests the club has started to act on concerns raised by fans and groups.
