Sunderland set stance over Brian Brobbey future after World Cup showing | OneFootball

Sunderland have reportedly set their position on Brian Brobbey’s future after the striker’s standout World Cup.

The former Ajax striker scored seven league goals in 31 appearances in his first campaign after arriving last summer. Regis Le Bris’ side finished seventh, earning a Europa League place.

His form took him into the Netherlands squad for this summer’s World Cup, where he struck three times in the group stage. Ronald Koeman’s men then lost to Morocco on penalties in the round of 32.

Manchester United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have been linked with the forward. "From Sunderland's point of view, though, there's no way they're going to let him go because he's become such an important part of their squad."

"So they're not going to be letting Brobbey go easily, they want to keep hold of him, and if any club wants to make a move it will have to be a very good one."
