Sunderland are assessing a double summer push, with interest in Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Olympiacos right-back Costinha.
Il Mattino claims Sunderland remain keen on Anguissa after exploring a deal last year, with Napoli thought to be open to a sale amid injury-hit form and complicated contract talks. He is tied to 2027.
Bournemouth were among rivals previously, and the player’s family were understood to favour a return to England. Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, and a Premier League move could again be realistic.
Despite recent fitness concerns, Anguissa’s profile could add experience and power to Régis Le Bris’ midfield, with ball carrying and final-third output a potential boost if the finances stack up.
Sunderland are also being credited with interest in Costinha as they target defensive reinforcements. The 26-year-old helped deliver a league and cup double last season and aided a strong European run.
He has been less consistent this term but remains a regular, and is contracted until 2029. Sunderland monitored him in January and are weighing a formal approach, with English and Italian competition expected. Olympiacos are not expected to engage until their campaign finishes.
