Sunderland could still qualify for Europe on Sunday, and their squad value has surged since returning to the Premier League.
According to Sunderland Echo, the club are anticipating a calmer summer window than 12 months ago, after last year’s overhaul of Regis Le Bris’ promotion-winning squad.
Club-record deals for Habib Diarra and Enzo Le Fee set the tone, and by early September Sunderland had added Robin Roefs, Ajax striker Brian Brobbey and former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka.
The results have made them one of the season’s stories, and they host Chelsea in a season-ending game knowing European football remains possible, which would be only their second entry and the first since 1973.
The most valuable XI by position reads as follows. In goal, Robin Roefs €25.00m. The back four is Lutsharel Geertruida €20.00m at right-back, Trai Hume €22.00m at left-back, with Nordi Mukiele €18.00m and Dan Ballard €20.00m in central defence.
The midfield three are Noah Sadiki €30.00m, Habib Diarra €32.00m and Chris Rigg €25.00m. Chemsdine Talbi €25.00m and Enzo Le Fee €25.00m flank striker Brian Brobbey €25.00m.
Others are listed at €18.00m, including Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda, with Nilson Angulo at €17.00m and Omar Alderete at €15.00m. Granit Xhaka is valued at €10.00m, Dennis Cirkin and Romaine Mundle at €8.00m. Bertrand Traore and Reinildo Mandava are €5.00m, Melker Ellborg and Jocelin Ta Bi €3.00m, Abdoullah Ba €2.00m, and Luke O’Nien and Ahmed Abdullahi €1.00m. Isidor has scored five Premier League goals this season.
