Sunderland’s possible 2026/27 XI if summer rumours become reality | OneFootball

Sunderland are still awaiting a first major signing, yet a Europa League campaign follows a seventh-place finish on their Premier League return, alongside Juventus, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats have been linked with targets across the Premier League and Europe, so here is how Regis Le Bris’ XI could look if some of those rumours come off.

In goal, Netherlands international Robin Roefs shone in year one on Wearside and, despite links away, appears set to stay.

Across the back line, free agent Oscar Mingueza has been linked after leaving Celta Vigo. Omar Alderete was a steady presence, Dan Ballard signed a long-term deal, and Trai Hume could come into captaincy contention if Chelsea pursue current skipper Granit Xhaka.

Midfield options include Cameroon’s Arthur Avom, who impressed for Lorient under Regis Le Bris, while Noah Sadiki built on last summer’s move and featured for DR Congo at a historic World Cup. Celtic midfielder Arne Engels, a Belgium international, has also been linked and may decide after the finals.

Chemsdine Talbi produced four goals and two assists in 28 league games and helped Morocco reach the last 16. Enzo Le Fee’s loan became permanent after promotion, and former Ajax forward Brian Brobbey returns from a promising World Cup with the Netherlands.
