The Sky Blues sealed a top-flight return 25 years after being relegated from the Premier League by drawing 1-1 at Blackburn Rovers on Friday.

Ipswich Town, Millwall, Southampton, and Middlesbrough are vying to clinch automatic promotion alongside Frank Lampard's men, whereas Hull City, Wrexham, and Derby County are battling to claim the final play-off spot.

Kieran McKenna's Ipswich boast a game in hand on their promotion-chasing rivals, but could only manage a 2-2 draw with Boro at Portman Road on Sunday.

Football League World has taken a look at how Opta's supercomputer thinks the Championship top six will finish, with four games remaining for the Tractor Boys, and three fixtures left for fellow promotion hopefuls.

Hull City - 6th

Hull previously boasted an outside chance of clinching automatic promotion, but they are instead focused on holding off Wrexham and Derby in the top-six battle now.

The Tigers are winless in their last four Championship games, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Birmingham City on Saturday, as Tomoki Iwata's equaliser cancelled out Joe Gelhardt's opener.

However, Opta's supercomputer has predicted that Sergej Jakirovic's men will hold onto a top-six spot at the expense of Wrexham and Derby.

Middlesbrough - 5th

Middlesbrough led Coventry in the Championship title race before being beaten 3-1 by the Sky Blues on 16 February, but that feels like a very distant memory now.

Boro have gone seven league games without a victory, and the supercomputer has tipped them to finish fifth.

Kim Hellberg's men will hope to reignite their form in the last three fixtures of their regular season, so they can head into the play-offs with some confidence.

Southampton - 4th

Southampton have done remarkably well to put themselves firmly in the automatic promotion conversation, after enduring a woeful start to the season.

However, the Saints may have to settle for a play-off place instead.

Tonda Eckert's men have already booked one trip to Wembley, as they are set to face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals, and they would love to return to the national stadium for the Championship play-off final.

Millwall - 3rd

Alex Neil's Millwall will be licking their lips at their run-in, as they host Stoke City, Leicester City, and Oxford United in their last three games.

Stoke only have pride left to play for, whereas Leicester and Oxford are both in danger of being relegated to League One, making them ideal opponents.

However, the supercomputer has predicted that the Lions will finish third, rather than securing automatic promotion alongside Coventry.

Ipswich Town - 2nd

Ipswich began the season with aspirations of sealing an immediate Premier League return, and the Tractor Boys are close to achieving that goal.

McKenna's men have failed to win their last two games, but their promotion destiny is in their own hands, and they will be particularly determined to beat Southampton on 28 April.

Coventry City - 1st
