Sutton United mourns Jack Skinner, 35, after cancer death

Sutton United, in Sutton Coldfield, have paid tribute to Jack Skinner, who died from cancer earlier this month at the age of 35.

The club said in a statement that he had been an integral part of Sutton United for many years and a legend to those around him. It praised him as one of the nicest people to meet and noted he had so much still ahead of him.

Skinner died on Wednesday, June 3.

His playing career included several seasons with the first team, a spell at neighbours Boldmere St Michael's, then a return home to represent a number of sides and run a junior lads team.

Funeral arrangements will be shared when confirmed, with commemorative events in his memory planned.
