Swansea City travel to Bramall Lane today, aiming to halt consecutive defeats and move back into the top half of the table.
The Swans have moved down to 14th place following heavy losses to Wrexham and Coventry City. Manager Vitor Matos has overseen an improvement since November, but his side has struggled for goals recently. Notably, Swansea have lost eight of their last nine league trips to Sheffield United.
They now seek their first league double over the Blades since the 1950s. Swansea have kept clean sheets in a quarter of their matches this season. They will need that defensive discipline to improve their dismal historical record at Bramall Lane today.
Vitor Matos manages a squad bolstered by a key international return but still missing creative outlets. Notably, league top scorer Zan Vipotnik is back after netting a brace for Montenegro during the break. Consequently, he will spearhead the attack in an effort to end the team’s scoring drought.
However, the visitors remain unable to call upon Zeidane Inoussa, who is still recovering from injury. Furthermore, Marko Stamenic is expected to start in the engine room after impressive recent performances.
Lawrence Vigouroux will start in goal behind a defensive line featuring Ben Cabango and Harry Darling. In midfield, Goncalo Franco will partner Stamenic to provide the technical platform. Notably, Melker Widell and Ji-Sung Eom will look to provide the creativity for Vipotnik.
Swansea City Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vigouroux; Galbraith, Cabango, Burgess, Tymon; Franco, Stamenic; Yalcouye, Widell, Eom; Vipotnik
