Chris Wilder has addressed reports that Sydie Peck and Gus Hamer could leave Sheffield United this summer
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has addressed reports that midfielders Sydie Peck and Gus Hamer could both leave Bramall Lane this summer.
Peck and Hamer have both been star players for the Blades this term, but the South Yorkshire outfit are set to undergo a rebuild this summer.
Wilder hoped to reignite the Bramall Lane side's Championship play-off hopes after returning to replace Ruben Selles, who oversaw a woeful start to the campaign.
However, Sheffield United have continued to struggle for consistency under the 58-year-old's familiar stewardship, and will look to address their issues in the summer transfer market.

The Blades bolstered their chances of finishing in the top half of the Championship table with consecutive wins over Hull City and Watford.
However, landing a play-off spot is now a mathematical impossibility for Wilder's men, who failed to earn a single victory in March, instead drawing to both West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City, as well as being defeated by Norwich City and Wrexham.
It is no secret that the South Yorkshire outfit have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer market, as they look to build a side capable of launching a serious top-six bid next season.
However, to strengthen his squad, Wilder will also have to facilitate the departures of some of his current assets.
Alan Nixon has revealed via Patreon that Sheffield United are preparing to offload Hamer and Peck as part of the changes they are making this summer.
Addressing the duo's future, Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield's Football Heaven on Tuesday: "I think it’s the same as it always will be. If we have to sell a player or two, we will do, as long as we don’t give them away. That’s my take on it. We have to raise money. The owners put a lot of money in to buy the football club, they put a lot of money in in terms of investment at the start of the season.
"If that’s the case, that’s the case, I’m okay with that, but we can’t develop these players and just let them go for nothing. We can’t buy players and let them go cheaply, or not at a price where we don’t think it’s right for us."
Coventry City in the summer of 2023.
Meanwhile, Peck is a Sheffield United academy graduate who made one top-flight outing in the 2023/24 season, but enjoyed his breakout campaign last term.
The 21-year-old's Blades contract expires in 2028, whereas the former Coventry man's deal only lasts until 2027, meaning that this summer is United's last opportunity to cash in on the 28-year-old.

Nixon's aforementioned report has revealed that the Blades are preparing to offload both Peck and Hamer, but Wilder's comments outline how focused his side are on recouping the correct price for their assets.
With that in mind, the Dutchman may be more likely to leave Bramall Lane this summer than the Englishman.
Hamer's stock can only be the highest it will ever be this summer, given the fact that his deal expires in 2027, whereas Peck is under contract in South Yorkshire for a further year, and is still at an age where his potential is very high.
Furthermore, selling the ex-Coventry ace, who is often utilised in wide areas, would allow the Blades to invest in a more natural winger this summer.
