Striker enjoyed prolific loan spell at Villa Park as a youngster
Former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is set to make a return to the Premier League with Aston Villa after cutting short his loan to Besiktas.
The Briton, now 28 years old, cut his teeth in the top flight playing under Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, establishing himself in the first-team after the club was slapped with a two-window transfer ban in 2019.
He spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Aston Villa, then of the Championship, notching 26 goals in 40 appearances as the Midlands club earned promotion back to the Premier League.

He left Chelsea in 2021, though, joining Roma of Serie A, and after five years is set for a return to Villa Park.
Abraham joined Besiktas at the start of this campaign on loan with a conditional obligation to buy, which was triggered in January.
He will not see out the season with the Istanbul club, though, with Fabrizio Romano reporting a player-plus-cash deal has been agreed.
Aston Villa will exchange Yasin Ozcan and €21million (18.1m) plus add-ons for Abraham’s services.
Ozcan, 19, signed for Villa in the summer from Kasimpasa and was immediately sent on loan to Anderlecht.
Villa sent delegates to Istanbul to seal the deal and reportedly wooed Abraham with the offer of a long-term contract. Unai Emery is said to be a long-time admirer of the player.

Abraham will undergo a medical on Saturday, according to BBC Sport, and will provide much-needed competition for Ollie Watkins, filling the place left by Donyell Malen, who joined Roma earlier this month.
Villa are expected to turn their attention to midfield targets next after injuries to Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn, with another ex-Chelsea star in Ruben Loftus-Cheek reportedly among the shortlisted names.
Abraham’s departure is a considerable blow for Besiktas - he had been their top scorer so far this campaign.
Provided the move goes through without issue, Abraham could face Chelsea when they visit Villa Park on March 4.
