"Yes, I scored two goals. Obviously I love to score goals so I am trying always - corners, maybe even sometimes trying to shoot. But I love to score."

He was speaking to LUTV.

The 23-year-old was unveiled last week as Leeds’ second signing of the summer, joining from Sassuolo for £34m, two weeks after fellow defender Pascal Struijk left for Brighton in a £20m deal.

He joins a back line that conceded 56 goals in 38 league games last season, and kept clean sheets in four of the last nine en route to survival and a 14th-placed finish.

Last season with Sassuolo he scored twice in Serie A and supplied one assist. He stands six-foot-four.

"I was born in Slovenia, lived my whole life in Austria and then I moved the first time out of home was Italy. I lived there for five years. But I love it. That's my job and I am really happy to be now in England."
