AC Milan have once again been credited with interest in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, but they will have to pay a huge figure to get him.
Milan currently have some doubts about the centre-forward role going into 2025-26, given that Alvaro Morata is now 32, Tammy Abraham is only on a dry loan and Luka Jovic is out of contract.
There have been widespread reports suggesting that the management plan to make a big investment on the striker of the future, and Gyokeres is a name that has been mentioned since the summer.
According to TBR Football, Gyokeres will not leave in January unless his release clause of €100m is triggered. They don’t think that will happen, despite the fact Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all scouted him.
Paris Saint-Germain, Milan and Napoli have ‘also done their homework ahead of potential bids in 2025’, and a big advantage could be that head coach Ruben Amorim is expected to leave, with Manchester United in talks.

Having signed from Coventry City in the summer of 2023, Gyokeres racked up 34 goals and 12 assists in his debut campaign in Portugal and he already has 13 goals this season.
Any club wanting him in January would have to pay his €100m clause, but his entourage are ‘encouraging anyone to make an offer in January as the player would ideally like to end the season with Sporting’.
