Tchouameni Gets 8, Valverde With 7.5 | Real Madrid Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Benfica

Real Madrid entertained Benfica at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 14th minute when Rafa Mir found the back of the net. However, Aurelien Tchouameni equalised for the home team just a couple of minutes later. Alvaro Arbeloa’s men went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
Vinicius Junior ended up scoring the winning goal in the 80th minute as Real Madrid earned a narrow 2-1 win on the night and a 3-1 victory on aggregate.
Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player fared during the clash against Benfica.
He made a few solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet tonight.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10
Alexander-Arnold was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6.5/10
He dealt with the danger when he could, but wouldn’t be pleased about conceding an early goal.
CB: Raul Asencio – 5.5/10
Asencio did his fair share of defending but made a costly error at the back.

LB: Alvaro Carreras – 7/10
Carreras got stuck in with some solid tackles and made two promising runs with the ball.
CM: Federico Valverde – 7.5/10
He caught the eye at times on both halves and has got a couple of assists to show for his efforts.
CM: Aurelien Tchouameni – 8/10
Tchouameni anchored the midfield well and managed to equalise in the 16th minute.
CM: Eduardo Camavinga – 7/10
He managed to shine at times and was replaced in the 76th minute.
RW: Arda Guler – 7/10
Guler caused some problems for his marker, but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
ST: Gonzalo Garcia – 6.5/10
He made one key chance in the final third but failed to threaten the Benfica goal.
LW: Vinicius Junior – 7.5/10
Vinicius Jr. was a real menace inside the opponent’s half and scored the winning goal once again in the 80th minute.
RW: Franco Mastantuono – 6.5/10
He caused some headaches for the opposition defenders.
CB: David Alaba – 6/10
