St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson has named his starting XI for this afternoon’s Premier Sports Cup Final against Celtic. The Irishman’s team have shown in their last three meetings with Celtic that they have the ability to go toe to toe with the Scottish Champions but have found themselves with just one point from nine as late goals have saved Celtic.
Today, at Hampden, Robinson will be hoping to inspire an upset for the Saints.
St Mirren: George, Fraser, King, Freckleton, McMenamin, Phillips, Gogic, Baccus, John, Ayunga, Nlundulu.
Subs: Mullen, Richardson, Tanser, Taylor, Donnelly, O’Hara, Idowu, Mooney, Mandron.
Robinson was a beaten finalist on two occasions during his Motherwell days as Brendan Rodgers’ team swept them aside on the road to a Double Treble.
Elsewhere, Wilfried Nancy has named his Celtic team for the game with the Frenchman opting to switch back to a more recognised formation. Tony Ralston and Kelechi Iheanacho come into the team at the expense of Yang and Benji Nygren.
Schmeichel, Ralston, Trusty, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Engels, Hatate, Tounekti, Iheanacho, Maeda.
Subs: Sinisalo, Nygren, McCowan, Balikwisha, Yang, Kenny, Bernardo, Forrest, Donovan.
The game kicks off at 3:30pm (Celtic Park Time).
