Noni Madueke has opened up on his goals for the season and admitted he’s just trying to be as good as he possibly can be.

The 22-year-old has had a good start to the season and has four goal in seven Premier League games, including a hat-trick against Wolves and the equaliser in last Sunday’s draw against Nottingham Forest.

Madueke’s early season form earned him his first call-up to the England squad and he made his debut against Finland at Wembley last month, where he provided an assist for Harry Kane in the 2-0 win.

The England international has really developed as a player since the start of last season and he’s carried his good end of season form into the new campaign.

Despite the signings of Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix this summer, Madueke has nailed down the right wing spot in Enzo Maresca’s strongest starting eleven.

Cole Palmer has rightly taken a lot of the plaudits for what he’s doing but Madueke’s importance to the team and his contributions shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Speaking ahead of England’s upcoming games against Greece and Finland in the Nations League the former PSV man opened up on his goals and revealed he just wanted to be the best version of himself.

“I’m just trying to be the best version of me,” he said as cited on X.com.

“Obviously, I admire Cristiano Ronaldo and a lot of other top players, but I’m just trying to be as good as I can be.

“So in terms of setting goals, I just always try and be better and better and better every session, every game, and that’s really it.”
