20:00 Spain vs Belgium - BBC One
Spain take on Belgium on Friday evening, as the European Champions look to add the World Cup to their Euro 2024 triumph.
La Roja are yet to concede a goal at the 2026 tournament, after snatching a late win against Portugal in the previous round. Belgium eliminated co-hosts USA in emphatic fashion, with ex-Everton forward Romelu Lukaku on target.

Mike, Tielemans is a massive loss considering his teammate Onana's horrible ACL injury, sadly his season is over before it even started.

Belgium came back really well there.

why the eff isn't VAR checking that Handball?
Michael Kenrick 6 Posted 10/07/2026 at 21:28:32
Come on, Rom.
Score a goal, big fella!
Michael Kenrick 7 Posted 10/07/2026 at 21:38:34
That's the second feigned dive by Belgium that has fooled Michael Oliver.

Expected a lot more from Spain, Oyarzabal has scored a few, but he's not a natural striker?

Merino is uncanny with his poaching Lemmens at fault

Two goalkeeping errors two Spanish goals. Merino Supersub again. Thought Doku gave his all but was let down by those up front. To say Belgium played without Onana and Tielemans in midfield they did well. Yamhal was nowhere near his best. The two LBs and both CBs were excellent. Rodri handball, overlooked again. Hard to believe, if a Belgian had, handled like that. it would not have been ignored by VAR.
A team who can press and have a group of forwards who work together will beat Spain. France will do it. England would not be phased playing them either.

Spain can be got at with a bit of pressure, running on behind, and a bit of tough tackling, I think France will win, after extra time or pens. Hope Spain win it, love to beat them in the final.

Do people really want a penalty for a ‘handball’ like that?
I’m glad we have the sensible ‘is the hand / arm in a natural position?’ / ‘was there any chance of getting the arm / hand out of the way?’ questions to surmount. The ball was heading away from the danger area wasn’t it?
In my opinion it was nothing like the incident against us when his outstretched hand nudged the ball in a direction that benefitted him. Making out the situations are at all alike puts one’s credibility as an impartial judge into doubt.
