The Antoine Semenyo transfer saga could end as week from hell for Chelsea

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has a huge part to play in Chelsea’s season just across this week, if he moves to Man City.

Chelsea were keen on signing Semenyo and made an enquiry. However, as soon as the story started it was pretty much all but over, and it now looks like the attacker is heading to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Chelsea have missed out on a chance to sign a top class proven winger who has probably been one of the best and most in form attackers in the Premier League for the last season or two. Sigh.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea looking into January deal to sign Dutch midfielder!!

But that’s not even the issue here. The biggest issue is that now, Semenyo could give Chelsea the week from hell.

Chelsea welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge tonight in their next Premier League game, and it looks like Semenyo might play this as his farewell game to the club.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, As it stands, Bournemouth still hoping Semenyo can make a farewell appearance against Chelsea on Tuesday. Obviously this was posted yesterday, but it’s had no updates since then and seemingly still stands.

The script is written, isn’t it? Who would bet against him scoring against Chelsea now tonight? Not me.

Then Chelsea could face him again

Things could get even worse for Chelsea then though. Because if he then goes on the join City when the transfer window opens on Thursday, Chelsea’s next game is against Manchester City – Semenyo’s new club!

Yep, we all know where this is going, right!?

Chelsea’s dropping of points at home has been a real problem this season, and we’ve now got the stats to prove it.

Axel Disasi remains a player in Chelsea’s now much reduced bomb squad, and one they would love to shift in January. There is talk of Leeds interest – but it remains to be seen whether anything will come of it.
