Argentine fans are trading a new set of patterns they believe sustain hopes of a title defence at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to SuperDepor.com, the Elijo Creer idea, built on numbers, rituals and memory, has resurfaced online with a part two.
One parallel places Argentina alongside Pelé’s Brazil. After 1958, Brazil won 2-0 against England and 7-0 against Chile at home, then retained the title in 1962. Post Qatar, Argentina beat Panama 2-0 at the Monumental and Curacao 7-0 in Santiago del Estero.
Between those tournaments Brazil also lost an Olympic quarter-final to hosts Italy, while Argentina, in the same window, went out in the quarters to hosts France at Paris 2024.
Nigeria’s absence resurfaces too. The Africans missed 1986 and 2022, and for 2026 have fallen short after losing to DR Congo in the intercontinental play-off race, though the case is under appeal.
The FIFA ranking is cited as well. No team ranked number one at a World Cup has lifted the trophy, and Argentina have since slipped to second.
Canada’s only appearances are 1986, 2022 and now 2026, and Argentina won the first two. French Ballon d’Or winners precede triumphs too, from Michel Platini in 1985 to Karim Benzema in 2022, with Ousmane Dembélé the latest.
Club World Cup echoes appear, with Chelsea champions in 2021 and again in 2025. The 12-year thread is invoked, from Italy 1994 to 2006, Germany 2002 to 2014, and Argentina 2014 to 2026.
There is even a youth signal, the Under-20s lost the 1983 and 2025 finals before senior peaks. The number 36 runs through it all, linking 1978 to 2014, 1986 to 2022, and 1990 to 2026. None of this guarantees anything, but belief thrives.
