Joan Laporta and his board have called Barcelona’s presidential election for 15 March, the earliest date permitted by the statutes. Prospective candidates can collect signatures from 23 February to 2 March.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Víctor Font, Xavier Vilajoana and Marc Ciria have declared their intentions, each fiercely critical of Laporta’s financial management and warning of a damaging legacy. It is not clear whether Joan Camprubí Montal and Som un Clam will join the race.

Font, 53, has prepared the longest, remaining prominent since losing in 2021. The Granollers businessman has repeatedly challenged what he views as opacity, financial sleight of hand and cronyism. He has launched Nosaltres to replace Sí al Futur, joined by Suma Barça led by Ricard Font, Seguiment FCB and la peña Almogàvers. He took 29.99% of the vote in 2021.

Vilajoana, 52, an engineer and former director under Bartomeu, Rosell and Laporta, unveiled his precandidacy arguing it is necessary to halt the club’s drift. He accused the current leadership of improvisation and described the management as demented. After the date was set he said his team had long been preparing and were ready.

Ciria, 46, a financier, launched his movement in late 2025 at the Sala Bikini, arguing that when things do not work they must be changed. Now a critic of Laporta’s stewardship of the finances, he previously joined Laporta’s 2015 candidacy that lost to Josep Maria Bartomeu. He now fronts a group that also addresses the role of the member, Leo Messi, the grada de animación and the club model.
