The striker Robert Lewandowski is one of the players in this FC Barcelona squad whose future at the club is the most uncertain. The Pole still remains a crucial player for Hansi Flick, but being already 37 years of age, and in the last year of his contract, it remains to be seen whether he will still be playing for the Blaugranes next year.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Polish forward recently appeared in an interview with the journalist Bogdan Rymanowski and talked about his future. Lewandowski made it clear that he was yet to make a decision in this regard:
“There’s still time to decide. I don’t feel any pressure, and I don’t know which path to take right now.”
Further talking about his continuity at the club, the Pole said:
“I don’t talk to the coach about possible interest from other clubs. It’s also not a matter of cutting my salary in half. The decision will depend on what the club wants and what I consider best… On the sporting plan the club pursues and the role I could have under Hansi Flick’s management.”
The Polish veteran still had high aspirations for this season, despite his rather advanced age:
“I want it all: to qualify for the World Cup, to win La Liga and the Champions League. I know I’m in the final stretch of my career, but I still have very high ambitions.”
Lewandowski also talked on how the Barcelona team has improved lately:
“There has been a noticeable improvement. Everything is a bit more stable, and that helps the team perform better. The atmosphere in the dressing room is good.”
Despite his age, Robert Lewandowski has been playing at a very high level for Barcelona. Hopefully, he will continue performing at this level, especially as he is still one of the deadliest strikers in Europe.
