ChatGPT believes that there's only a month left of Dejphon Chansiri's reign of terror as Sheffield Wednesday owner
Sheffield Wednesday fans are counting down the days until their club can be free from the iron grasp that is Dejphon Chansiri.
A rough summer of contract breaches due to late payments, which has bled into the start of the ongoing campaign, too, as Wednesday's players and staff have been paid late in five of the last seven months, meant that a lot of playing staff walked away from the club for nothing before the season began.
The club has been stripped of its assets and has had to throw inexperienced youth team players in at the deep end to begin the campaign. Money continues to be lost day by day, but Dejphon Chansiri has yet to sell, seemingly sticking with his valuation of £100 million, which was set in July.
However, slim hope for the new Independent Football Regulator to change things and some news from potential buyer John Textor may force the Thai businessman to let go of his stake in the club soon enough.
At least that's the hope of AI, which has taken an optimistic approach when predicting when Sheffield Wednesday will be sold.
Football League World turned to popular AI-based service ChatGPT to get their thoughts on when Sheffield Wednesday would finally be sold by Dejphon Chansiri.
John Textor, an American businessman who is among those linked with taking over at Hillsborough, said recently that Chansiri has been open to ideas with him, and despite playing down the extent of his consortium's interest, stated that they're "one of three or four groups" who are in talks with Wednesday's current owner.
Despite a mammoth asking price which likely won't be met any time soon, it can be promising to see that Dejphon Chansiri is engaging in some talks, even if they are minor.
Additionally, given the news revealed on Monday that all clubs must have a license by the 2027/28 campaign to show that their financial plans are sound, and they are engaging with supporters, as per the demands of the new Independent Football Regulator, Chansiri could be forced out through that, anyway, so could look to cut his losses before that ruling is enforced.
Therefore, ChatGPT has predicted that Sheffield Wednesday will be sold by November 13th, exactly 30 days from today.
AI stressed that this was just a mere prediction, and that dragged negotiations and more disagreements could stretch this out until 2026, but a positive, optimistic take will be a cause for slight happiness among the Owls' fans.
It's been a truly dismal year or so for Sheffield Wednesday supporters, who have been forced to see their club crumble in front of their very eyes.
They'll be hoping that help can come their way before the IFR implements their financial licensing law, as August 2027 could arguably be too late to save the club, given the rapidly worsening state they currently find themselves in.
Nothing currently points to the club being freed from Dejphon Chansiri over the next month, but those few Wednesday fans who are remaining optimistic in this dire time will take this prediction as a hopeful one.
