Gianluigi Donnarumma may have finally put end to one of football’s most enduring modern debates — Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe?

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Donnarumma (now at Man City) revealed his verdict with calm authority:

"I think Erling has the most powerful shot in world football. He’s left footed, so he’s different from Kylian. They’re both very difficult to face but I’d rather have Erling on my team"

A keeper who’s seen it all

The 25 year old goalkeeper played 105 match alongside Mbappe at Paris Saint Germain winning three Ligue 1 titles and the Champions League before both stars departed in consecutive summers , Mbappe to Real Madrid in 2024, Donnarumma to Man City year later for £26 million.

Replacing club icon Ederson who joined Fenerbahce, Donnarumma has yet to taste defeat with City. Since arriving, he’s quickly become pillar under Pep Guardiola.

Since joining City, Donnarumma & Haaland have formed strong friendship rooted in mutual respect.

"We just got on well immediately, We’ve always respected each other even before we met. We joke about facing each other for our national teams but I know how strong he is. Facing him will be hard both as player and as friend" Donnarumma said.
