FC Bayern are still on the lookout for promising talents for the future. According to the latest reports, the Munich club are now apparently keeping an eye on a young attacker from Croatia
As the president of NK Osijek, Robert Spehar, told the Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti, the German record champions are among the clubs currently keeping a close eye on Anton Matkovic
Spehar made it clear how much interest there is now in the 20-year-old: „He is being bombarded with calls from managers – Dinamo, Hajduk, Bayern, I don’t know who all is being mentioned. I think his head is like a drum.“
The club is therefore trying to shield the young player as much as possible. According to Spehar, someone from the club even has to keep an eye on how the situation surrounding the attacker is developing

Matkovic is under contract with Croatian first division club NK Osijek and has earned himself a regular place there in recent months
The U21 international is regarded as an extremely strong attacking player and has already been compared to Ivica Olic in his home country – the former striker who also played for FC Bayern between 2009 and 2012
However, Matkovic is not a classic center forward, but rather stands out for his high work rate, his mentality and his dynamic forays from deeper positions
The 20-year-old has been a permanent fixture in Osijek’s starting line-up since the beginning of December, scoring twice in his last ten competitive matches
Even if these figures do not look spectacular so far, Matkovic is considered one of the most exciting attacking talents of his age group in Croatia
Whether FC Bayern are actually planning any concrete steps towards a transfer remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Munich are keeping a close eye on the European talent market.
