Real Madrid are currently going through a challenging phase, facing a mix of highs and lows. However, today they will be hosting a team that has struggled to win at Santiago Bernabeu.
Interestingly, Getafe have a dismal record when it comes to playing away at Real Madrid. They have lost 15 consecutive La Liga matches against Los Blancos, including 13 at the Santiago Bernabeu and two at the Alfredo Di Stefano.
This streak stands as one of the longest and most unfortunate against Real Madrid in the history of the competition.
In fact, only two teams have a worse record. Racing de Santander hold the unfortunate title of the team with the most consecutive defeats at Real Madrid’s stadium, having lost 18 times between 1952 and 1994. It wasn’t until the 1995/96 season that they managed to end that run.
Furthermore, Barcelona hold the second spot on this list, with 16 consecutive defeats between 1949 and 1963 at the Bernabeu. For Getafe and Oviedo, both teams share the third-worst streak, having lost 15 times each.

Getafe’s record is still ongoing, so this upcoming match could either extend their poor run or break it. Oviedo, on the other hand, have a similar record, losing 42 consecutive years between 1949 and 1990.
It is important to stress that the last home win for Real Madrid against Osasuna, a dominant 4-0 victory, helped ease the tension around the team.
This result came after two disappointing losses at the Santiago Bernabeu: a 0-4 defeat to Barcelona and a 1-3 loss to Milan.
However, following a defeat to Liverpool, Carlo Ancelotti’s side now faces the crucial task of regaining form to stay in contention for the league title, especially with Barcelona’s strong performances in the league.
This Sunday’s match is an important one for Real Madrid, as they aim to recover and maintain their momentum in the La Liga season.
