Chelsea aren’t done there and are still working on a deal for Simons, with the Blues said to be in advanced negotiations with Leipzig.

Leipzig interested in Chukwuemeka and George

The Blues have identified Simons as a player they want to add to their revamped attack, and Chelsea are said to want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between in their squad next season.

Leipzig are said to want a total package of £60m for Simons, although it’s believed Chelsea want to pay less, with personal terms thought to nearly be agreed.

The Telegraph have reported the Blues are yet to make an official offer, whilst Leipzig are interested in both Carney Chukwuemeka and Tyrique George.

The Simons deal is believed to separate to any potential deals for Chukwuemeka or George, so neither of the youngsters will be directly involved in the move for the Dutch international.

Chuwkwuemeka spent last the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, with Leipzig said to view him as a potential replacement for Simons.

George was promoted to the first team squad, but with the summer arrivals he’s fallen down the pecking order, and his chances of minutes appear slim.

A loan seems the best options for all parties, but it’s vital George goes somewhere he will be a first team regular to help his development.

Garnacho to arrive as well as Simons?

With Chelsea working on the Simons deal, it appears the arrival of a fifth attacker this summer is very much a possibility.

The Blues are expected to make an offer for Manchester United winger Garnacho before the end of window, although it’s been said they don’t want to pay more than £30m.

Garnacho is thought to be waiting for an approach from Chelsea, but any swap deal involving Nicolas Jackson appears unlikely.

It’s likely Chelsea will wait until late in the window in order to try and get the best deal possible, but it’s certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
