The Blues were quiet in January, but are expected to be busy in the summer with a number of positions needing to be filled in the squad.

Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst they reportedly want to add another centre back and midfielder.

Morgan Rogers likely to cost more than £80m

There have been reports Chelsea could change their transfer strategy this summer, and it’s believed they are open to adding Premier League proven players with experience.

The Blues have been linked with Nottingham Forest centre back Murillo, and held interest in Villa star Rogers last summer.

Ultimately the Blues didn’t make a move, and Rogers signed a new contract last year keeping him at Villa Park until 2031.

However, The Times have reported Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all want the England international and have renewed their interest.

The report adds Villa’s valuation is likely to exceed £80m, for a player they signed in a deal worth up to £15m from Middlesbrough in January 2024.

Rogers has scored ten goals and registered seven assists in 44 appearances, with Villa in the top four and still in the Europa League.
