Liam Rosenior was apparently furious after Chelsea dropped points against Burnley and Leeds, despite his claims he stayed calm.

This week’s Chelsea Confidential for the Daily Mail has some really interesting claims, not least on Liam Rosenior’s post match fury after Chelsea dropped points.

“While Rosenior told reporters the day after their draw with Leeds that he was calm in the home dressing room,” Kieran Gill wrote.

“One source who was there said he did indeed show his angry side. Likewise, there was further frustration after failing to see through a win over Burnley.”

The clues were all there of course – Rosenior’s post match comments were delivered in a controlled way, but he probably wouldn’t have said what he said about a “missed assignment” if he wasn’t pretty furious underneath.

Rosenior resorts to anger – and has to hope it works

Rosenior’s demeanour as much as his appearance and credentials has been a focus of the discourse around him since he was appointed at Chelsea. He’s been called a “LinkedIn manager” and some of his verbiage has had the “football men” wrinkling their nose a little.

We’re happy he’s able to let loose in the dressing room with a bit of bite – we hope the players respond to it. Nothing unravels a manager’s authority faster than going nuclear and his dressing room not taking it seriously.

Matt Law was on the London is Blue podcast this week, and he could barely control his frustration over an ongoing issue the club are having at the moment.

It’s vital for Chelsea that Moises Caicedo stays under control in the games in the next few weeks, for a very good reason connected to what you see above.
