Last week it emerged that Francisco Conceicao was on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Conceicao, 23, is a left-footed right winger who is currently on the books of Juventus. The Portugal international - a one-v-one dribbling specialist - is under contract in Turin until 2030 and it could take a bid of at least £56m to prise him out of Serie A.

He fits the bill for Liverpool’s requirements ahead of the transfer window opening - with Mohamed Salah set to leave the club on a free transfer.

Although the 33-year-old is under contract until 2027 an agreement has been reached to let him leave this year instead. That means Liverpool are going to have to step up their recruitment for a starting right-wing option.

Conceicao the back-up option - but others are out of reach

And with other options looking out of reach it could mean a move for Conceicao. TEAMtalk is reporting that the dribbling monster is currently behind other targets - including Paris Saint-Germain trio Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Also in the running to arrive at Anfield in time for next season are Michael Olise and Yan Diomande.

PSG are reportedly adopting a “not for sale” policy around their treble-winning forwards and there are sticking points regarding the Bundesliga pair too.

Olise - under contract until 2029 - is very much not for sale by Bayern Munich while Diomande will come with a £87m price tag.

Conceicao fits the bill as one-v-one specialist

“Highly-rated Portugal winger Francisco Conceicao is a player Liverpool have been tracking closely after impressing during their recruitment process,” the report reads.

“While Conceicao is appreciated and has caught the eye of Liverpool’s recruitment staff, he is not currently viewed as a leading candidate for a summer move.”

If - for any reason - these targets are not signed then it brings Conceicao into play. At just over £50m he won’t break the bank and will give Arne Slot that one-v-one quality he’s been crying out for.
