Three Chelsea players and one pending Chelsea player have made the shortlist for this year’s Golden Boy Award.
The Golden Boy is an award established by Tuttosport that is given by sports journalists to a young male footballer playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year. All nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation’s top tier.
It is considered to be a very prestige award and the most recent player to win it was Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.
This year features a Chelsea connection within the nominations for the shortlist, which will come as no surprise seeing as the Blues owners are known for finding top young talents and snapping them up.

Current Chelsea players Estevao Willian and Jorrel Hato make the list, as seen above. As well as Mamadou Sarr who is also a registered Chelsea player currently on loan at Strasbourg, and Geovany Quenda who Chelsea are signing this summer from Sporting CP.
I only covered an article yesterday reporting a stunning strike by Quenda on international duty for the Portugal U21s side – he looks like a real talent.
And we have already covered numerous stories on Estevao Willian including one on him being the only bright spark in a recent defeat in the Premier League. We all know how good this guy is!
The winner of the 2025 Golden Boy award will be announced in December 2025 at the end of this year.
I genuinely think that Estevao might have a very good chance of winning this one because he has been absolutely superb all year.
