Despite a couple of lapses in the first half that complicated the match, Guadalajara showed composure, stayed patient, and stuck to its playing style to come from behind and secure an exciting 2-2 draw against Pumas on Sunday night at Estadio AKRON, in the Matchday 13 clash of the Clausura 2026. With this result, Chivas retained the overall top spot with 31 points and extended its lead over second place.
From the opening whistle, the Rojiblanca side set the tempo, showed intensity, and created constant chances that troubled the university defense. However, the visitors took the lead before halftime. Far from backing down, the Rebaño Sagradoresponded with pride in the second half, pushing forward in search of a comeback—which came through Armando González, who scored a brace to take sole possession of the league’s scoring lead with 12 goals.
With this result, Chivas under Gabriel Milito matched the club’s best unbeaten streak at Estadio AKRON, reaching 11 matches without a loss, with 9 wins and 2 draws. The previous record dated back to 2017, with 6 wins and 5 draws.
The next challenge for Guadalajara in the domestic campaign will be at Estadio Universitario in Monterrey, where they will face Tigres next Saturday, April 11, in Matchday 14 action of Liga MX.
