Tiago Pinto targets Benfica starter for Bournemouth at around €20m

Bournemouth are monitoring António Silva and could bid in this window, with Benfica open to negotiating at around €20 million, according to Glorioso 1904.

The Portugal international is under contract until 2027 and is not minded to extend, which the hierarchy believes could make this a final chance to secure a significant fee.

Before the final league match against Estoril, at the end of May, Rui Costa’s board offered a renewal through to 2031, but Silva declined.

He has since decided to leave Benfica this summer in search of a new challenge. Bournemouth sporting director Tiago Pinto knows him well from their time together at Benfica, which could facilitate any approach.

The Premier League is viewed as his most likely destination, while clubs in Italy are also monitoring his situation.
