Tiaguinho has emerged in Grêmio's senior side at the start of 2026, with two starts beginning to justify the hype. The 17-year-old impressed for the club's under-17s and Brazil last year.

According to Globo.com, the club are negotiating a renewal of his deal, which runs until 13 July 2027, with a pay rise and a possible change to his 100 million euros (R$ 625 million) foreign release clause.

He started the season opener against Avenida in Santa Cruz do Sul, then featured again in round three against São Luiz at the Arena last Saturday. It was his first home outing with the first team, and he quickly won over the 21,604 in attendance.

Against São Luiz he attempted 57 passes and misplaced only one. The numbers were close to Arthur, generally the team's most reliable passer, who came from Juventus and recorded 63 passes with two errors.

Born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Tiago Augusto Gonçalves is 17 and now awaits a sterner kind of debut.

Grêmio visit Guarany de Bagé on Wednesday at 21:30, and Luís Castro has indicated he will take an alternative side to the Estrela D'Alva stadium. The Gre-Nal follows on Sunday at 20:00 at Beira-Rio, in Gauchão round five, where Tiaguinho is in contention to start his first clássico since joining the senior group.
